moon_custafer: Russian Futurism explodes (explodity)
I have failed to get Beatrice into her carrier. Tried for over two hours this time. The receptionist at the vet’s when I called to cancel referred to her as “Houdini.” Next attempt, Thursday. Trouble is, I did manage to grab her two or three times, but she’s strong for her size and has smooth fur, so I couldn’t keep hold of her long enough to get her in the carrier. This does explain why the Humane Society was unable to trap her until she was over two months old.

Ohhh boy.

Not to be Hlepy, but did the vet say anything about giving her a trank before trying to get her into the carrier?

Hi, I'm a complete stranger checking the [community profile] yuletide_admin member posts for yuletide chat and I saw this. I have the same issue with a young, strong male cat and I have good luck with turning the carrier so the door is facing up and open, grabbing the cat and dangling him over the hole and dropping him in gently but quickly, while apologizing profusely. Have you tried this?

Also you can avoid the suspicious hiding of a cat who knows what bringing the carrier out means by leaving it in that odd upright position in a corner all the time so she only knows when you are actually standing over the carrier.
